WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

In accordance with the provisions of EU Regulation 679/2016 and Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the protection of personal data and guarantee of digital rights, we inform you that the personal data you provide us with and those that are generated during our relationship with you, are processed for the following purposes:

  • To deal with the requests you make to us and to provide general information about BCBL, its lines of research, its staff, its facilities and equipment, job offers, activities and seminars, publications, public databases, news, scientific dissemination and contact details.
  • To allow your participation in congresses and projects in which BCBL participates or directs.
  • To recruit participants and volunteers for our studies.
  • To allow the collection of applications for the organisation of visits to our centre (schools, vocational training, universities, etc.).
  • If you send us a Curriculum Vitae, your candidature will be evaluated in the recruitment process.
  • Responding to queries, complaints and suggestions, and carrying out all kinds of communication actions.

How long will we keep your data?

The personal data provided will be retained as long as their deletion is not requested by the person concerned, or whoever legally acts as his legal representative and it is appropriate, and while they are necessary, including the need to keep them during the applicable limitation periods, or relevant to the purpose for which they were collected or recorded.

The conservation of the data will be conditioned to the legal obligation that ASOCIACION BASQUE CENTER ON COGNITION BRAIN AND LANGUAGE BCBL has to conserve them. After these deadlines the data will be destroyed or erased, performing the deletion, removal or destruction so that the information contained in the media is not recoverable.

Legitimation

The legal basis for the processing of your data is the consent given by the person concerned. Every data subject has the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning him or her or similarly significantly affects him or her, subject to the exceptions provided for in Art. 22.1 GDPR.

The data subject has the right to the erasure of his or her data, due to the disappearance of the purpose for which the data was processed or collected, due to revocation of consent when this is what legitimises the processing, or for the other reasons contained in article 17 GDPR. Erasure will be carried out by proceeding to the high-level erasure of the data contained in automated media and to the physical destruction of the non-automated media.

How can I claim my rights?

By means of a letter, always accompanied by a copy of the DNI or other document accrediting the identity of the interested party, addressed to the addresses indicated in the heading for the attention of the data protection delegate.
